Mexican banknotes

The National Migration Institute (IMN) has updated Mexican immigration fees for 2026. This year there are some additional changes. For your convenience, we have translated 2026’s fees for the most common procedures below. Remember that some immigration procedures incur two or three fees, and others, just one. That is, the paperwork can have a cost, as can the issue of a document, and in some cases a fine may apply. Therefore, double-check at your local immigration office or with your facilitator, for your specific case.

One change this year is the possibility to receive a 50% discount – so you will see two columns listing 100% and 50% prices. In effect, the 50% rate is only applicable to the family unity and work permit procedures. Otherwise, expect to pay 100%

Documentation

Immigration procedures usually require official documentation and proof of identity. Therefore, make sure to prepare well in advance. Indeed, documents may even require translation or apostillization. In that case, if you apply from outside Mexico, this blog might also help: Documents you need to bring with you when you move to Mexico.

Finally, check our articles on permanent and temporary residency, and regularization for more advice. Remember, at Immigration to Mexico, we guide you through every step of the process. We make your immigration journey as easy and stress-free as possible.
